How to Make a Quick Italian Spaghetti

Spaghetti is a delicious dish that can be made with a few simple ingredients, perfect for a family dinner or a big party. This article will teach you how to prepare a quick Italian spaghetti, and will have you serving up fantastic plates of pasta in no time.

Ingredients

1lb of Ground beef or Italian sweet or hot sausage cut up in 3/4" pieces
Two large cans of crushed tomatoes.
4 cloves fresh garlic, diced.
1 medium onion, diced.
1 tbs dried parsley flakes
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp ground black pepper (adjust to taste)
Olive Oil.
1 lb dried spaghetti
Optional flaked Parmesan cheese
Optional 1 diced bell pepper
Optional 4 ounces diced mushrooms (or an 8 ounce can)

Steps

1. Put on a pot of water to boil with 8-12 cups of water. While it is heating, cook your sauce:

2. In a separate pot heat up 2 table spoons of Olive Oil on medium heat.

3. Sauté your sausage or ground beef until browned (drain and return to pot), then add bell peppers and mushrooms and cook until lightly browned.

4. Add onions into the pot, continue sautéing until edges are browned. Then add fresh diced garlic and cook another minute (overcooked garlic is bitter and loses its flavor).

5.Add the tomato sauce and spices, stir and let it simmer for 15 to 20 min.

6. Once the water in the first pot boils, add 1tbs. olive oil, spaghetti noodles and a 1 tsp of salt.

7. Stir gently and constantly until the water boils again to keep it from sticking together.

8. Let the spaghetti boil for 10-12 min (once spaghetti is done, rinse and drain).

9. Mix with sauce and serve immediately.

10 Characteristics of Superior Leaders

Thousands of articles and books have been published describing what it takes to be a superior organizational leader. Some researchers and authors claim a superior leader possesses certain traits or abilities; others say it's all personality. Still others maintain it's the behaviors--not necessarily the intentions or thoughts--that are crucial.

Whatever your viewpoint, it boils down to this: successful leaders share the following characteristics or views:

1. Mission: Leaders know what their mission is. They know why the organization exists. A superior leader has a well thought out (often written) mission describing the purpose of the organization. That purpose need not be esoteric or abstract, but rather descriptive, clear and understandable. Every employee should be able to identify with the mission and strive to achieve it.
2. Vision: Where do you want your organization to go? A vision needs to be abstract enough to encourage people to imagine it but concrete enough for followers to see it, understand it and be willing to climb onboard to fulfill it.
3. Goal: How is the organization going to achieve its mission and vision and how will you measure your progress? Like a vision, goals need to be operational; that is specific and measurable. If your output and results can't be readily measured, then it will be difficult to know if you have achieved your purpose. You may have wasted important resources (time, money, people, and equipment) pursuing a strategy or plan without knowing if it truly succeeded.

4. Competency: You must be seen by your advisors, stakeholders, employees, and the public as being an expert in your field or an expert in leadership. Unless your constituents see you as highly credentialed--either by academic degree or with specialized experience--and capable of leading your company to success, it will be more difficult for you to be as respected, admired, or followed.

Practically speaking, not all executives immediately possess all of the characteristics that spell success. Many leaders learn along the way with hard work. As crises and challenges arise, those at the top of the hierarchy have key opportunities to demonstrate to others that they are in fact, qualified to be leaders. In actuality, greater competency can be achieved as a leader gains more on-the-job experiences.
5. A strong team: Realistically, few executives possess all of the skills and abilities necessary to demonstrate total mastery of every requisite area within the organization. To complement the areas of weakness, a wise leader assembles effective teams of experienced, credentialed, and capable individuals who can supplement any voids in the leader's skill set. This ability is what sets leaders apart from others. However, the leader needs to be willing to admit he lacks certain abilities and go about finding trusted colleagues to complement those deficiencies. After building the team, the entrepreneur needs to trust that team to understand issues, create solutions, and to act on them.
6. Communication skills: It does little good to have a strong mission, vision, and goals--and even a solid budget--if the executive cannot easily and effectively convey his ideas to the stakeholders inside and outside of the organization. He must regularly be in touch with key individuals, by email, v-mail, meetings, or other forms of correspondence. Of course, the best way to ensure other people receive and understand the message is with face-to-face interactions.

Getting out of the office or touring different sites is an irreplaceable method of building rapport and sending and receiving messages. "Management By Walking Around," or MBWA, meeting employees at their workstations or conference rooms, or joining them for lunch are just a few of the many effective approaches leaders can use to develop positive contacts with employees.

7. Interpersonal skills: Successful entrepreneurs are comfortable relating to other people; they easily create rapport and are at least more extroverted than they are introverted. These factors help leaders seem approachable, likeable, and comfortable in their position. Those qualities contribute to staff wanting to interact with their leader. They also help motivate employees to do a better job. When workers can relate to their boss, they believe that their boss is more concerned about them, with their performance, and with their output. Furthermore, they believe that they can go to their boss with problems they encounter on the job without fearing consequences for not knowing how to resolve issues.

Not all entrepreneurs are adept at interpersonal skills. Those that aren't, might find it helpful to take a course, choose a mentor or locate a therapist to help them build interpersonal skills. The intangible cost is too high to not improve these abilities. In addition, here's where a strong team comes into play. The less experienced leader who is still learning these skills can rely on the team to get out and to "press the flesh," interact with employees, and spread a positive attitude to help develop morale.

8. A "can do, get it done" attitude: Nothing builds a picture of success more than achievement, and achievement is the number one factor that motivates just about everyone across all cultures. When employees see that their boss can lead and direct, has a clear vision and attainable goals, and actually gains results in a timely manner, then that person's credibility increases throughout the organization. Entrepreneurs must modestly demonstrate their skills to give their constituents valid reasons to appreciate and value their efforts.

9. Inspiration: Quite often, employees need someone to look up to for direction, guidance, and motivation. The entrepreneur needs to be that person. Hopefully, Human Resources has hired self-motivated individuals. Nevertheless, there are times, when many employees need the boss to inspire them by word or action. Employees need someone to look up to, admire, and follow. Even when the production or delivery of services looks like "it is all going well," the leader may at times need to step in personally to offer a suggestion or encouragement to ensure that employees perform their jobs in an optimal manner.

10. Ambition: Resting on your laurels is bad for employee morale and entrepreneurial credibility. Employees need to be constantly striving for improvement and success; and they need to see the same and more in their leaders. When the boss is seen as someone who works to attain increasingly higher goals, employees will be impressed and more willing to mirror that behavior. It's a win-win for everyone.
The basic message in this article is that you as the owner/entrepreneur need to "be out there" for your employees. Continually demonstrate to them why and how you earned the position you now hold. Communicate with them using any of a variety of methods that show them you are worthy of being followed. Make that process inspiring and positive and you can almost guarantee that your results will be consistent with your efforts.

Guide to Treating Acne Scars and Skin Damage

The good news is that the zit that took up residency on your chin for the last three days is finally gone. But the bad news is that the breakout left its mark in the form of a scar.

“Even without picking, acne lesions, particularly cysts, can lead to scarring because of the intense, collagen-damaging skin inflammation with which they are associated,” says Tina Alster, MD, a clinical professor of dermatology at Georgetown University Medical Center. Luckily, you don’t have to grin and bear the telltale signs of a breakout forever. Read on for dermatologists’ top strategies for healing acne scars and keeping new ones at bay.

What Does an Acne Scar Look Like?

Acne scars develop in areas where former cystic blemish lesions have been present. Acne scars come in three varieties, says Hayes Gladstone, MD, a professor of dermatology at Stanford University.

Atrophic, which are mostly shallow
Boxcar-shaped
Ice pick-shaped, which are narrow and deeper.
People with deeper skin tones may also notice darkening (or hyperpigmentation) within the scars, while people with lighter skin tones may show redness (or erythema) within the scars, says Alster.

What Makes Acne Worse?

Sun

Exposing scars to the sun can cause them to darken and slow the healing process, says Alster. How? Ultraviolet rays stimulate melanocytes (pigment-producing cells), leading to further discoloration. Your safest bet: Before heading outdoors, slather on a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher, with the physical blocker zinc oxide, and reapply every two hours.

Picking and Squeezing

Scars, which are made mainly of collagen (a protein fiber normally found in the skin's second layer), are the body's way of repairing itself. Acne scars are typically indented because of collagen loss from intense inflammation, says Alster. Picking leads to further inflammation and injury of the skin, which adds to the skin’s discoloration and scarring. Squeezing or trying to pop a pimple causes pus and bacteria to filter deeper into the skin, resulting in more collagen damage, notes Ron Moy, MD, professor of dermatology at UCLA.

Vitamin E

You may have heard that applying topical vitamin E to a scar will help it heal faster. But according to a study from researchers at the University of Miami, applying the nutrient directly onto a scar can actually hinder its healing. In the study, vitamin E had no effect (or made matters worse) for 90% of the patients, and 33% who used topical vitamin E developed a contact dermatitis.

What Makes Acne Scars Better?

Cortisone and Fade Creams

First, if the scar is red or swollen, use an over-the-counter cortisone cream to calm the skin, says Alster. The cortisone is absorbed by skin cells and reduces inflammation. Next, you’ll want to concentrate on lightening any hyperpigmentation left from the acne scar.  “Hydroquinone, a popular skin lightener, has recently fallen out of favor and is now being omitted from many fading creams due to irritation and carcinogenic concern,” says Alster.

But there are other ingredients to look for over-the-counter that help lighten hyperpigmentation. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (aka bearberry extract), and even vitamin C (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to look for in over-the-counter lightening creams, notes Alster. Unfortunately, there is no over-the-counter treatment that can fill in the indentations of atrophic acne scars.

Hijama - The Cupping Therapy

Hijama (Arabic: حجامة‎ lit. "sucking") is the name in Arab traditional medicine for wet cupping, where blood is drawn by vacuum from a small skin incision for therapeutic purposes.[1] Hijama is generally performed by Muslims as it is a form of medicine specifically mentioned and encouraged by the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Among other hadith, it is mentioned in that recorded by Muhammad al-Bukhari (5263) and Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj (2952), saying "The Hijama is the best of your remedies" (خير ما تداويتم به الحجامة).

Hijama can be performed anywhere on the body, often at the site of an ache or pain in order to ease or alleviate it. A more conservative approach[2]warns against over use of cupping and suggests only that six optimal points on the body are all that is required to "clean" the entire cardiovascular system: The back of the head, two shoulders corresponding to the acupuncture heart position, the tail or small of the back, and the two inner ankles.
The location is first shaved, if necessary, to ensure a tight seal with the cup. The mouth of a cup (metal, glass and plastic cups are generally used, although traditionally horns were used) is placed on the skin at the site chosen for cupping. Then a tight seal is created. The traditional method was to burn a small piece of paper or cotton inside the vessel, so that the mouth of the cup clings to the skin. Some practitioners now use a machine instead,Hijama is a oldest way, although others strictly adhere to the Prophetic method with the use of fire, both for sterility and the benefits or properties from the element of fire itself. The cup is left to cling to the skin for a few minutes, then it is lifted off and a couple of very small incisions are made in the skin. The cup is then put back as it was before until the flow of blood subsides.[3]
Hijama is considered a form of energy medicine because it has been claimed to unclog the meridians in the body, and is viewed by some practitioners as a cure that can alleviate black magic and possession. [4] Like other cupping treatments, there is no scientific evidence to suggest that hijama confers any health benefits.[5]

In an interesting conversation at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference yesterday, Microsoft’s CFO Peter Klein indicated that a Surface Mini might be waiting in the offing. There’s no indication of what size the Surface Mini might be, but it’s fairly safe to assume that it would be a 7-inch tablet that goes head-to-head against the Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, and iPad Mini.
Speaking at the Goldman Sachs conference, Klein hammered home the fact that Microsoft — at long last — is capable of extending the Windows (Metro) experience to almost every form factor. “The notion of flexibility and scalability of the operating system is intrinsic to our strategy,” he says. On smaller devices, Microsoft has Windows Phone 8, and for everything else there’s Windows 8, Windows Server 8 and Windows Embedded 8. With the same kernel in both WP8 and Windows 8, and app cross-compatibility, it is in theory quite easy for Microsoft to create an almost-seamless ecosystem that spans the gamut from 4- to 40-inch displays.
The question on my mind, though, is which operating system would power the Surface Mini. At seven or eight inches, the Surface Mini would find itself in an uncomfortable chasm between Microsoft’s two OSes. You see, despite having the same kernel and roughly the same Metro interface, Windows 8 and WP8 are rather different beasts. WP8 is designed almost exclusively for portrait use, while Windows 8′s Metro Start screen is only really usable in landscape orientation. Neither OS deals very well with repeated reorientation, which is exactly what most users do with 7-inch tablets (from reading, to gaming, to checking email, to watching a movie).
This isn’t to say that Microsoft couldn’t tweak one of its OSes to work on a 7-inch device, though — and in all likelihood, I think Microsoft would choose Windows 8 or Windows RT for its Surface Mini. With better support for higher resolutions, media playback, and wireless connectivity, Windows 8 is a better choice. Windows Phone 8′s chief advantage is a lighter processor and memory footprint, which would increase battery life — but Windows RT, backed by the same ARM SoCs as WP8, has also proven itself of all-day battery life. WP8 also has more apps than Windows 8/RT, but many of them will need to be reworked for high-resolution displays and landscape orientation. (See: Windows 8 smartphones and Windows Phone 8 tablets.)
Ultimately, as Klein puts it, “We can have the same core code base driving form factors from four inches all the way up to 27-inch ones and everything in between, so I think we are well set up to respond to demand as we see it.” This isn’t quite a confirmation that the Surface Mini (or Surface Maxi?) is in development, but Amazon, Google, and Apple have all proven that the demand is obviously there. For what it’s worth, Microsoft has already signaled that the Surface RT and Pro tablets are just the beginning of a big foray into the world of consumer electronics. Let us not forget what Ballmer famously said in an interview with CRN back in July 2012, too: “We are not going to let annyyyyyyyyyyyyy piece of this [go uncontested to Apple]. Not the consumer cloud. Not hardware/software innovation. We are not leaving any of that to Apple by itself. Not going to happen! Not on our watch!”
Basically, a Surface Mini is guaranteed — it’s just a matter of when.
